Hi all. I work in developing resources for RE and Sociology based on the NEW AQA Specifications for 9-1. My resources aim to make planning more efficient and support targeting to raise pupil progress. A self and peer assessment presentation to support pupils with marking theirs and others written answers using the AQA Mark Scheme for levels of response. The spec ends next year but these slides can support marking and teaching or preparation for mock and final exams. I have used the Specification to formulate the slides.

AQA SPEC B UNIT 2 is coming to an end this year but much of the content in the NEW GRADE 9-1 GCSE SPEC A is the same especially in the Thematic studies modules. This will support progress for all learning groups. these 50 quick questions can be used in paired or group activities as well as independent learning activities. The aim is to embed knowledge and allow pupils to recall and apply knowledge and understanding. The Quick Question approach was observed in maths lessons so I have tried to adopt it for Religious Studies. Hope it helps all colleagues and pupils!

This is for colleagues teaching the AQA Spec B Religion and Life issues course. The topic is about early life and abortion. It focusses on using the exemplar answers to develop better written answers. The Presentation will benefit other topics by focussing on the skills and level of response. Great for revision and getting pupils to write more and develop their responses.

AQA SPEC A GRADE 9-1 TABLE to support pupils with a broad understanding of what grade they are. The new SPEC has yet to publish actual numbers on what the Grade 9-1 will look like in practice and we will be waiting till 2018 before knowing the boundaries. This PPT should help give an indication for teachers and staff. The grade boundaries have been developed with our Local SACRE and involve skills, knowledge and bloom commands. The removal of levels has essentially led to new levels however, these descriptors bridge with KS4 outcomes.

I know many colleagues in schools are using VFG or verbal feedback given. This slide is mainly focussed on the humanities specifically on Religious Studies to support pupils acting on VFG Stamps. You can use the instructions or modify to suit your own subject needs. It has proven invaluable in developing evidence for pupils responding to feedback.

This covers specific 3,4 and 6 mark questions from Unit 1 June 2012 for the AQA Spec B June 2012 paper 1. The presentation helps pupils observe in bullet point form and helps them practice questions using mark scheme based answers. in many cases pupils were pleasantly surprised to see some of the responses that can help them pick up marks. This can be used over and over again to support interventions as well as lesson specific activities.

A simple resource that tables all past topics 2010-2014 that have come up in GCSE RELIGIOUS STUDIES AQA SPEC B: Topics Covered for Unit 1 Religion and Citizenship and Unit 2 Religion and Life Issues. Specifically Paper 1 Relationships, Sport, Multiculturalism and Identity. Paper 2 Prejudice, Early life (abortion), War and Peace and Young People. This will allow pupils to target their revision. Teachers can use it in many ways to drive progress, support planning and target gaps in learning.
